Tapfolio Trending for iPhone Updated

Our latest release has just been approved by Apple and posted online: version 1.3 of Trending is now available for download everywhere.

If you haven’t used Tapfolio Trending before, you’ll find it the fastest and most convenient way to see where the markets are at a glance.

This latest version contains a number of tweaks and improvements, including often requested increase to the number of stories each stock stream can hold. The new version lets you add more story tiles at any time, by simply sliding your finger to the left when you get to the last story in the stream.

You will also find the app faster when downloading stock prices and news stories, as well as better at sharing graphs and stories.

Tapfolio Trending Goes Live

Over the past few months our team has been working on several projects at once, and we’re ready to start showing you the fruits of that labour. Before we get to the new version of Tapfolio (which is nearing completion), today we want to show you Tapfolio Trending for iPhone.

This is not Tapfolio shrunk to fit that small 3.5 inch screen. Tapfolio Trending is a completely different beast. We realized early on that we couldn’t replicate Tapfolio’s functionality on such a small screen so we engineered Trending to serve its primary usage model: on-the-go. Trending is based around stock watch-lists, that also act as channels for news delivery. Tap and swipe through the news headlines aggragated by our sophisticated news delivery back-end that took months to perfect.

Did we mention that the whole app is social? Tweet news stories, share any graph directly to Facebook, we will even host them on our site so you can discuss what’s happening with AAPL lately.

So without further ado, visit our iTunes page and download Trending for yourself - it’s free! And when you’re done experimenting with Trending, we would really appreciate 5 seconds of your time to leave us a rating or review, as they help immensely when launching new apps.

Tapfolio Update (1.4) is Now Live!

The latest Tapfolio update is now live on the App Store. Apart from many smaller tweaks and fixes, you will now also be able to re-arrange stocks in your watchlist, as per (very) popular demand: just tap Edit and use the handles on each tile to move them around.

To get the update just go to tapfolio.com/download - and if you have extra few seconds tap the star rating to tell the others what you think. Every rating or review helps and you might even see your name and review featured on our front page.

The latest Tapfolio update is getting closer

The first 2012 update to Tapfolio is being released today to Apple for review! It contains many small tweaks to user interface and better international support (global stocks are not yet part of this update, but coming soon!). If everything goes well you should have the latest version on your iPad sometime next week.

We’ve received great feedback and some of you even went a step further - Pedro has blogged his experience and the unexpected bonus (translated from Spanish), thank you!

Tapfolio will stay free for only a few more days, until January 2nd to be exact. If you have friends or family who unwrapped iPads this Christmas let them know, iPads love Tapfolio.

Tapfolio goes Free for the Holidays

It is that time of the year and we’d like to help celebrate by making Tapfolio completely free for the holidays!

As announced today on Dan Benjamin’s and Marco Arment’s Build & Analyze show, you can download Tapfolio for free during the holidays, and keep it indefinitely, even when the free offer expires.

December surprise

It’s been a month since the Tapfolio came out and what a month it’s been! We have already put out one update, and expanded our sales to a few more countries with more coming soon, we promise!

No rest for the Tapfolio crew of course - we are currently working on the December update, expected in a couple of weeks, and are solidifying our secret plans for the start of the new year (*cough* iPhone *cough*)

Tapfolio 1.2 Released

Tapfolio’s first update is waiting for you (officially called 1.2), with some great new treats:

  • A beautiful new portrait mode
  • Ownership of fractional shares
  • Support for US mutual funds
  • Buying and selling of commodities like Gold
  • New indexes like SP500, with intra-day data
  • Performance improvements, bug and stability fixes

    To get it simply open App Store on your iPad and tap Updates - it’s free of course.
